Inner world and outer world - Vernon Howard

"You must first understand your inner world if you want to
understand the outer world.

 Say the same thing another way.
You will understand and know how to handle the outer world
perfectly when you have an acquaintance with and can handle
yourself inwardly.

So we have a lot of work here tonight in bringing up to the
light what has been in darkness and, therefore, beyond your
personal control.

Bring these facts that you're going to hear
tonight daily to your mind as you encounter the outer world,
and one day nothing will be clearer to you than the fact that
when you were right, clear, strong, knowledgeable inside your
world, that hostile, evil world in front of your eyes has lost
all its former charms for you, and lost all its powers to lure
you and lost all its powers to hurt you."
